第44届多伦多国际电影节（Toronto International Film Festival）将于明天开幕，对电影爱好者来说，接下来这个周末，市中心将成为欢乐的海洋；但对那些原本打算开车去市中心游玩的人来说，这个周末多伦多将沦为“堵城”。
据电影节官方宣布，著名影星巩俐与柏林影后咏梅，也就是最近热播剧《小欢喜》中季杨杨妈妈的扮演者，将在多伦多走星光大道。
为了容纳大批前往电影节的人群，多伦多市政府决定将繁华的King街部分封路。从周四上午10点到下周一早上6点，King街从Peter Street到University Avenue将全部封闭。
市政府在新闻通稿中表示，提醒广大司机，这个周末多伦多市中心的交通状况会受到相当大的干扰，在计划出行时，最好避开该地区。 电影节期间，TTC公共交通也会临时改道或绕道，届时会在关键路口配备引导员，帮助乘客找到临时站点。
多伦多国际电影节是北美重要的电影节之一，近年来更被认为是美国奥斯卡金像奖的“预演”。在今年的名单中，有不少备受期待的知名导演和演员，以及他们带来的新作，甚至有多部可以视为今年颁奖季的种子选手。
本届多伦多电影节共会有7部华语电影和一部短片与北美观众见面，分别是： 《继园台七号》
